Florida center Aleksander Barkov has been placed on long-term injured reserve by the Panthers, meaning his injured left leg will keep him sidelined for at least the next 10 games and quite possibly beyond. The Panthers have not revealed any details of Barkov’s injury, which indicates that the evaluation process is still ongoing. Coach Paul Maurice says Barkov will see Panthers team physicians on Monday. Barkov was hurt midway through the second period of Florida’s 4-3 overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night.
