Aces Release
8/27/2019
The Aces returned to Raley Field in Sacramento for the second consecutive night and for the second consecutive night walked away with a victory. Behind an outstanding start from Bradin Hagens (7.0 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 7 K), Reno defeated the Pacific Northern Division leaders by a score of 5-4. Solo home runs by Carlos Asuaje, Josh Prince and Domingo Leyba provided the spark for the Reno offense Tuesday night. Andy Young got the Aces scoring going with a RBI single in the top of the second inning. Asuaje drove in the second run of the inning with a deep sacrifice fly to score Matt Szczur. Sacramento got two back in the bottom half of the inning but Reno would respond in a big way. Back-to-back homers by Leyba and Prince pushed Reno ahead in the fifth and Asuaje added an insurance run in the sixth. The win keeps Reno’s playoff hopes alive with six games remaining in the 2019 campaign. Reno must win all six of their games (2 vs. Sacramento & 4 vs. Salt Lake) while Sacramento must lose their remaining six games (2 vs. Reno & 4 vs. El Paso). Both teams will square off tomorrow night with the first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Braden Shipley will look to duplicate Hagens’ success against Sacramento righty Justin Haley.Â
