A state board has voted to restore to state workers some health benefits that were cut during the recession.Â
Â
The Public Employee Benefits Program board on Thursday agreed to lower annual deductibles and increase contributions to health savings accounts beginning in the upcoming fiscal year.Â
Â
The Nevada Appeal (http://bit.ly/OhWf6P) reports the board voted earlier to cut the deductibles from $1,900 per worker and $3,800 per family to $1,500 and $3,000 each year.
Â
Many public employees say those deductibles are still too high.Â
Â
But benefit program officials say deductibles can be lowered substantially by using health account contributions totaling $1,100 per year.
