Maddies Pet Adoption Days for NHS, all day
For two days the adoption fees at local animal shelters are waived so that you can adopt them for free! And they are hoping you clean out the shelters entirely! That's the point of Maddies Fund Adoption Days. It's to reduce the number of shelter pets and then the fund gives back to the shelters to help them in the year ahead. Â The SPCA and the Nevada Humane Society are both part of it.

Dyslexics Awareness Day
This event is put on by the Governor's Office and it is geared toward helping dyslexics find work. It takes place in the California Building in Idlewild Park from 2-5 p.m.Â
NV Energy lineman's rodeo to benefit United Way, 8:30-3:30
Talk about family-friendly fun. See real linemen compete for honors as they run up poles, change out parts and rescue each other. It's a national competition and Reno's is taking place at the NV Energy Training Yard on Ohm Street in Reno.
Bike registration at Double Diamond ElementaryÂ
Every year hundreds of bicycles are stolen here in Northern Nevada and if they aren't registered police can't return them even if they are recovered. So this is your chance to get your bike registered with the police. It's happening at Double Diamond Elementary School from 10-4.

This huge motorcycle run starts and finishes at the Livestock Events Center in Reno. They rev up and take off at 10 a.m. Proceeds benefit Moms on the Run and local breast cancer patients.
