Tip A Cop Raises Thousands

Saturday evening, police officers in Reno and Sparks worked the lunch and dinner shifts at two Red Robin's locations, earning tip money for the Special Olympics.

Reno raised $4,685 and Sparks raised $2,780 for a grand total of $7,465.

"Tip A Cop" is a national campaign where police officers join with the Special Olympics to serve as celebrity servers at their local Red Robin Restaurant, donating all of the tips raised to supporting Special Olympics, which is a free program for all of the participants.

If you missed Saturday's event, Nevada Special Olympics is hosting "Bowl for Reno" on November 13th. Register your team of four and get ready for three games of bowling with a Special Olympics athlete! For more information visit Special Olympics Nevada's website here.Â
