UPDATE:Â The Sparks Police Department says they responded to a barricaded subject in the 5900 block of Ingleston Drive on Tuesday.
They said around 7:13 a.m., they received a call reporting the ex-husband of a female subject was at the home and he had a Temporary Protection Order (TPO) to stay away from the ex-wife living there.
Sparks Police said it was reported he had a history of violence against her.
They said the TPO was not found, however, an active and extraditable felony warrant for domestic battery against the ex-wife was found.Â
They said the ex-wife and a child were believed to be in the house with the suspect, David Schaeffer. Sparks Police said there was a concern for a possible hostage situation as officers attempted multiple times to contact the ex-wife without success.
Sparks Police said the home was surrounded and there were numerous attempts to contact the possible victim and suspect. They said eventually, the ex-wife and child exited the house together.Â
They said Schaeffer was still in the home and refused to come out. Sparks Police SWAT responded and the suspect eventually came out on his own accord.
Sparks Police said for the time being, Schaeffer was booked for a local misdemeanor charge of obstructing. They said a hold for the felony warrant will be completed by the Washoe County Jail.
Sparks Police said it was determined later that the ex-wife was not being held against her will.

Sparks Police and SWATÂ surrounded the home... and with the help of negotiators got the suspect out.
We're told a woman and child were also inside the home... but are safe.
