A man was sentenced in Alpine County Superior Court on Monday for an assault that happened in Bear Valley in January.
Jorden Gaestel had previously entered a plea of no contest in the case, according to a post from the Alpine County Sheriff's Office on Facebook.
In a post from the ACSO in January on Facebook, the Sheriff's Office said his victim sustained life-threatening injuries.
On January 28, Gaestel was charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and mayhem.
In his sentencing on Monday, he received 18 years in prison.
