A Reno man has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to eight child sex-related charges.
The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says seven charges involved secretly recording young girls while nude. The eighth charge involved the possession of materials depicting children as young as 8 years old.
40-year-old Jason Dobbs was arrested in 2021Â after detectives with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigated and claimed that Dobbs may have been secretly recording children in his home.Â
He will eligible for parole after 42 years.Â

Regional detectives arrested a Reno man for child pornography.
Sparks Police and Washoe County Sheriff's Office detectives with the Northern Nevada Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), the Regional Sex Offender Notification Unit (RSONU) and working with the Nevada Attorney General's Office, worked on the case.
37-year-old Jason Dobbs of Reno was arrested for one county of felony possession of child pornography, one count of use/permit a minor over 14 years of age as a subject of sexual portrayal and one count use/permit a minor under 14 years of age as a subject of sexual portrayal.
When allegations against Dobbs came to light, reports were filed with the Sparks Police Department and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Sparks Police detectives with the ICAC joint task force started the investigation.
Detectives developed probable cause to obtain several search warrants for Dobb's home and property. The warrants were executed as a result, he was arrested without incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
