On the morning of Sunday, August 3, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a residential burglary in the Arrowcreek area.
During the course of the investigation, a car was found to have been stolen from the home.
Deputies tracked the stolen car to a location near Patton Drive and Tripp Drive in Reno. With assistance from the Reno Police Department SWAT team, deputies responded to the address.
Following a lengthy standoff, two suspects were taken into custody, and the stolen car was recovered at the scene.
The suspects have been identified as 26-year-old Kencil Davis and 23-year-old Ellaine Ferrer, both of Reno.
Both suspects were booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility on charges of residential burglary, grand larceny, and grand larceny of a motor vehicle. Davis also faces two counts of child abuse, neglect or endangerment.
“The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend its sincere gratitude to the Reno Police Department for their critical assistance in resolving this incident safely and effectively,” the agency said.
The investigation remains active, and no further information is being released at this time.
