Odds are, around town you can expect to see a lot of grads and their families out and about the next few days.

Local restaurants are getting ready to host all those people.

The owner of Rick's Pizza, Beer, and More, David Smith, told me that they prepare by over staffing, doing a lot of extra food prep, and stocking up on extra beer and liquor.

Smith also said that he notices an increase in catering requests and to-go orders for graduation parties.

He also says this time of year is crucial because the extra money helps make up for the lack of business in the summer when the students go home for their break.

Another popular spot is the Little Waldorf.

"It's just always been a tradition honestly," said UNR graduate Lexy Ashford. "Like as long as I've been in college it's just kind of the place to come to show your family a little bit about, like, UNR and the spot around it and then just congregate with other grads and congratulate them and see people. And that when you get to campus it might be a little chaotic to find everyone so it's a great place to come before."

These businesses should be having a second wave of customers after the final commencement ceremony of the day wraps up.

Keep in mind, these ceremonies will be going on all weekend so you can expect more traffic in the area.
