JUNE 23, 3 P.M. UPDATE:

New details have been released in a fatal crash that happened south of Mina last week.

The crash happened on June 19 around 11:40 a.m. on northbound State Route 360 at Mineral County mile marker 1, according to a release from the Nevada Highway Patrol.

A preliminary investigation shows that a 2021 Kenworth semi-truck pulling a refrigerated box trailer was heading northbound on SR360, while a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe, occupied by a driver and one passenger, was traveling with its hazard lights on directly in front of the semi.

The semi crossed into the southbound lane to pass the Tahoe.

The Tahoe then made a left turn, crossing the southbound lane to get on a dirt road.

The semi's front left struck the back left of the Tahoe, causing it to spin.

The semi came to a stop after re-entering the northbound lane. The Tahoe stopped on the southbound outside dirt shoulder.

The passenger in the Tahoe, 86-year-old Edward Wesley Hildreth from Menlo Park, California, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Tahoe was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the semi-truck did not sustain injuries and was taken into custody and booked into the Mineral County jail.
