Nevada Highway Patrol is says a pedestrian was transported by CareFlight with life threatening injuries after being hit by a truck at US-50 and Airport Road in Carson City Saturday morning around 8:15 a.m. Â
Officials tell us a white truck was driving south on Airport Road when they turned left to go eastbound on US-50 and hit the pedestrian.
The preliminary investigation shows that the pedestrian was in the crosswalk at the time. The driver of the truck is cooperating. It is not clear if speed or drugs are factors at this time.
NHP says that eastbound US-50 at Airport Road will be closed for a few hours. They are telling drivers that they should expect some delays, and use alternate routes if possible.
The Major Crash Investigation Team is investigating the crash.
