The Reno River Festival will return to downtown Reno May 8-9, 2021. The 2020 festival had been rescheduled for August. However, with COVID-19 restrictions being lifted later than we had hoped, and the State of Nevada currently locked into Phase 2 at least through the end of July, an August festival doesn't make sense.
"The Reno River Festival is a community celebration, and we take the health of our community very seriously. We want our city to emerge from this pandemic as quickly as possible. Holding a large festival during such an uncertain time could not only potentially expose people to the virus, but it could also potentially elongate the safety regulations that are hurting so many of our neighbors and small businesses. Holding a festival in early August is not worth the risk. Even if
Nevada transitions into Phase 3 by then, because of the restrictions that would be in place, we would not be able to create the experience you have come to expect at the Reno River Festival."
