Body Of One Of Two Missing Lassen County Women Found

UPDATE: The Washoe County Sheriff's Office says the body of one of two missing Lassen County women was found on Tuesday.

Officials said multiple agencies have been searching for them, including Hasty and Raven teams.

Hunters came across their car near Mixie Flat Road, several miles east of Sage Hen on Tuesday. The Toyota RAV4 had a flat tire, a raised hood and the word 'help' spelled out on the ground with items from inside the car.

Crews found one woman dead in the passenger seat. Detectives say her death does not appear suspicious in nature.

The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner's Office identified her as 85-year-old Shirlee Weaver.

Washoe County teams spent in total Tuesday-Wednesday to access the site and search for the second woman:

338 man hours (not including Raven)

Teams are still looking for the second woman on Thursday.

Original Story: The Washoe County Sheriff's Office says Search and Rescue teams are looking for two Lassen County women who disappeared on October 25.

Officials said planes from Search and Rescue are looking for signs of 84-year-old Shirlee Weaver and 75-year-old Candy Sturgill, and their tan Toyota RAV4.

The Lassen County Sheriff's Office says they were last seen leaving Litchfield, California with a destination of Wendel, California. They are known to frequent remote areas between Wendel and Pyramid Lake.

Shirlee Weaver is described as white with blonde hair and brown eyes, weighing around 155 pounds and is 5'4" tall. She was last seen wearing dark pants, a tan shirt and black shoes.

Candy Sturgill is described as white with blonde hair and brown eyes as well, weighing around 145 pounds and is 5'6" tall.

Their 2002 tan Toyota RAV4 has California license plates #6NWD443.
