If you saw a lot of hot rods, lowriders, and classic cars at the Balidini's Casino Sunday, that's because two local organizations and car enthusiasts put on an event to show off their rides, all for a good cause.

Imagination Reno Nevada and Northern Nevada Classics are two local organizations that hosted Show-N-Shine 2019, a car show, or what organizers refer to as a "show for hope." The event benefited the JUSTin HOPE Foundation while featuring about 200 cars, prizes, a raffle, craft vendors, food trucks, and live entertainment.

Maricela Gutierrez, a representative from JUSTin HOPE said, "The best thing about it is we have community members from all over Northern Nevada coming in to support a really good cause."

The JUSTin Hope Foundation's mission is to provide support to individuals and families affected by autism and other Neurodevelopmental disabilities, which is why the event was so important to James Deval, the President of Imagination Reno.

Deval said, "I was very strong in wanting to do this benefit with them and hopefully give them some finances so they could put on more events throughout the year." 

This event is the first car show Imagination Reno Nevada hosted. The other organization, Northern Nevada Classics has held charitable events before.

"We do a charity for every event and this was a great one for the Northern Nevada area. Northern Nevada Classics is based on doing charities for helping the local Nevadans, people, everything we do is Nevada." said Kevin Deggregori, the President of Northern Nevada Classics.

Both organizations are filled with car enthusiasts who say they're just looking to have a good time and support their community.

Deval said, "I've been lowriding for the better part of 30 years now, and I just want to educate the community and let them know, that hey, we're not drug dealers, we're not gang bangers, we're just a bunch of guys that really love cars, and we really want to help whichever way we can. We gotta look at ourselves as role models on top of all that."
