Senator Elizabeth Warren was one of three presidential hopefuls that visited the Silver State on Sunday.
In addition to fighting to get her message out, she was also battling a cold.
"After more than 100,000 selfies I finally caught somebody's cold, and it's done this to my voice, but I persist," said Warren.Â
The presidential hopeful spoke for about 30 minutes to roughly 1,100 people at Reno High School. She also answered questions on health care, senior care, and education.
In an interview with 2 News she said her policies, including her proposed wealth tax will help everybody regardless of political affiliation.Â
"Corruption is an issue for Democrats, Independents and Republicans. That two cent wealth tax is about the top one tenth of one percent people with more than $50 million in assets. Just paying two cents of their fortunes of $50 million lets us invest on an entire generation of young people."
Many people 2 News spoke with say they still have to decide on a candidate, but Warren says the goal should be to beat President Trump, and to do that she says Democrats must be united.
"We're going to have to pull our Democratic party together I think I'm the best candidate to do that because I speak to all parts of the Democratic party and I run a very inclusive campaign." said Senator Warren. She also added, "When Julian had to drop out, Julian endorsed me and many of Julian's people came and joined our campaign. When Kamala had to leave the race, we also had Kamala supporters who joined us. It's about having to bring their ideas, their energies, their approach. That's how it is that we're going to build a big united Democratic Party. And that's how it is we're going to be Donald Trump."
