The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says crews responded to fires in the China Springs area on Wednesday afternoon.
They said no structures are threatened at this time.
There's no word on how large the fires are, or what caused them.
Douglas County Sheriff says there's another fire in the area of Jacks Valley Elementary School.
They said due to winds, an advisory is being issued for the following areas:
- Clear Creek RoadÂ
- Silverado
- Shawnee area of North County
Douglas County Sheriff's Office says residents in those areas should be prepared to evacuate if necessary.
Our crew on scene confirms the Jacks Valley fire was started by lightning.
Douglas County officials say parents can pick up their children at Jacks Valley Elementary. They said they should be at their after school program or after school sporting activities at this time.
Douglas County officials say the rain appears to be helping but residents are asked to remain aware.
The Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center (Sierra Front) says the fire is a little over five acres at this time.
Our crew on scene says the Jacks Fire is now 65% contained and crews are mopping up.
Our crew says officials estimate the fire should be out by Thursday.
