From the Nevada Department of Wildlife:
Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) Game Wardens are seeking the public’s assistance with the killing of a pronghorn antelope buck at the Elko County Shooting Range on the west side of Elko. The shooting is believed to have occurred on Thursday, June 2, 2016.
“We received a call of a dead pronghorn antelope at the shooting range on June 3rd,” says Game Warden Jason Jackson. “After investigating, we found that it had been shot with a high powered rifle.”
There are no pronghorn antelope seasons currently open and Jackson is asking for the public’s help with solving this possible crime.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call Operation Game Thief at 1-800-992-3030 or the Elko NDOW office at 775-777-2300. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward if the information they provide leads to a conviction.
“If someone was at the range or know of someone at the range, we would love the public’s help in determining how and why this antelope was shot”, said Jackson.
