North Valleys Library Temporarily Suspending Service for Renovations

Washoe County Library System is offering free solar eclipse glasses to celebrate the total eclipse of the sun on Monday, August 21.

The library says they are offering one pair of solar eclipse glasses per person, while supplies last.

Along with the free glasses, the Washoe County Library System will have a variety of free STEAM-related (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programs to help motivate kids, teens, and adults with educational and fun hands-on learning activities, including Studio775 Makerspaces.

Library Director Jeff Scott said, “libraries, in addition to programs and events, have increased their collections with items in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts and math that are ready for checkout.”

The Washoe County Library System has suggested books about the sun for all ages to help you get ready for the eclipse. Find more information about the Great American Eclipse at www.space.com/33797-total-solar-eclipse-2017-guide.html.
