The snow will pile up quickly on Tuesday as cold air moves in Monday night. Feet of snow will fall in the Sierra through Thursday. The foothills in the Reno area will see between 7-16" of snow mainly on Tuesday and Wednesday. The snow will be okay for making snowmen, but will be lacking a lot of moisture to hold it together by Tuesday afternoon. The snow will be more dense to begin with, but will turn lightly and fluffy by late Tuesday.Â

There will still be lingering snow showers on Wednesday, but the heaviest snow will be on Tuesday.
