Local law enforcement and firefighters continue their tradition of holding a friendly golf competition to support the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation when the fourth annual Guns and Hoses Golf Tournament tees off on Monday morning, April 25 at the LakeRidge Golf Course in Reno.
A shotgun start is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. The best visuals will take place on the Tenth Tee where players will don the uniform of the opposing agency as they tee off. Law enforcement will wear heavy protective fire gear and firefighters will dress in SWAT gear.
Over the past three years, this tournament has raised tens of thousands of dollars to help support local families who have children with cancer. This year, more than 150 local law enforcement personnel, firefighters and caring citizens are using a day of vacation leave to join the fun and support a great cause.
The Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation’s vision is to reach every family affected by childhood cancer in northern Nevada and the eastern Sierra regions. Their mission is to enhance the quality of life for children with cancer and their families by providing financial assistance and compassionate support programs while advocating for increased research funds and raising public awareness.
