Barrett-Jackson Holds Car Auction in Reno

Barrett-Jackson is dubbed as the world's greatest collector car auctions. It's in Reno this weekend, part of Hot August Nights.

More than 250 cars are on site at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center this weekend, and mostly all of them will be auctioned off. The price range varies for cars, from $15,000 to over $100,000.

This is the third year the auction has been in Northern Nevada, and they've seen a 40% increase in bidders from last year. Even though the three year contract Barrett-Jackson has with Hot August Nights expires this year, the auction is hopeful they'll be back in the future.

"We are already in negotiations, and we are looking to come back," said Jeff Catlin, a logistics manager with Barrett-Jackson. "Maybe we'll change things around so we can fit around Hot August Nights even more. We're looking into the future for sure. We love coming here."

Doors to the auction opens at 8:00 a.m. The auction itself starts at 1:00 p.m.
