Barrett-Jackson is dubbed as the world's greatest collector car auctions. It's in Reno this weekend, part of Hot August Nights.Â
More than 250 cars are on site at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center this weekend, and mostly all of them will be auctioned off. The price range varies for cars, from $15,000 to over $100,000.Â
This is the third year the auction has been in Northern Nevada, and they've seen a 40% increase in bidders from last year. Even though the three year contract Barrett-Jackson has with Hot August Nights expires this year, the auction is hopeful they'll be back in the future. Â
"We are already in negotiations, and we are looking to come back," said Jeff Catlin, a logistics manager with Barrett-Jackson. "Maybe we'll change things around so we can fit around Hot August Nights even more. We're looking into the future for sure. We love coming here." Â
Doors to the auction opens at 8:00 a.m. The auction itself starts at 1:00 p.m.Â
