The Bureau of Land Management recently contracted with a company to clean six separate illegal dumpsites located in Sun Valley, Nevada north of the water towers.

They are urging the public to avoid these areas beginning May 13 through May 24.

This cleanup is largely related to trash associated with target shooters, including shell casings and shot up electronics.

The cost of cleaning the dumpsites is approximately $75,000.

"Every year the BLM Carson City District Office receives hundreds of complaints from concerned public reporting trash sites on public lands, said Logan Briscoe, Supervisory Law Enforcement Officer.” “When individuals cannot be held responsible for their illegal acts, the expense of cleaning up sites such as these is often funded through the use of tax payer’s money.”
