The BLM is working to slow the spread of Mormon crickets across approximately 4,000 acres of Nevada.  

The BLM will spray insecticide that is not harmful to people, pets, livestock, or wildlife and kills young crickets.

The treatment is scheduled for Friday depending on the weather. 

The treatment area will be the base of the Sonoma Range and the north end of the east range.

The insecticide will not be sprayed in recreation areas or within 500 feet of water.
