Bomb Squad Responds To Suspicious Package In Wadsworth

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office says it is investigating a suspicious package that was found at a home on Olinghouse Road in Wadsworth late Sunday night. 

Firefighters from Pyramid Lake Fire Rescue also responded to the scene, just after 11 p.m. 

Authorities tell us the Bomb Squad x-rayed the package. They tell us they discovered an improvised explosive device similar to a pipe bomb at the home and subsequently detonated it. 

Sheriff's Deputies they also collected evidence at the home. 

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.

There is no longer a threat.
