The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District announced Tuesday it is lifting its suspension on solid-fuel and charcoal barbeques.Â
The wet winter weather conditions allowed for the suspensions to be lifted.Â
The suspensions were in place in Incline Village and Crystal Bay.Â
The Fire District will provide a free ash can to residents who want to grill with charcoal. Residents can pick up an application at the Fire District Administration Office, located at 866 Oriole Way, Incline Village.Â
They also provided additional safety tips, including:
- Propane, charcoal, and other solid-fuel grills should only be used outdoors.Â
- The grill should be placed well away from the home, deck railings and out from under eaves and overhanging branches.Â
- Keep children and pets at least three feet away from the grill area.
- Keep your grill clean by removing grease or fat buildup from the grills and in trays below the grill.
- Never leave your grill unattended.
- Always make sure your gas grill lid is open before lighting it.Â
