Final Totals in for 23rd Annual 'Share Your Christmas' Food Drive |

Final totals are in from our 23rd annual Share Your Christmas Drive-by Food Drive. We collected food at three different locations from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. last Friday.

Thanks to your generosity, we collected 69,035 pounds of food at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno - $80,142.75 in cash was also donated and will go to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.

Our Governor's Mansion location in Carson City collected nearly 67,000 pounds of food and more than $17,000 in cash. Friends In Service Helping (FISH) will get 55,929 pounds, along with $1,965 - the Ron Wood Family Resource Center will get 6,500 pounds and $11,700 and Advocates to End Domestic Violence will get 4,295 pounds and $3,349.

And our Carson Valley Inn location in Minden collected 176,683 pounds of food and $50,026 in cash. Those donations will go to the Carson Valley Community Closet.

"It really is heartwarming to me to see so many people driving by and dropping off food to help others in the community, so they can go home and have dinner with their families," Governor Brian Sandoval told us.

The Food Bank will still take your donations if you could not make it out on Friday.

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada's Donald W. Reynolds Regional Food Distribution Center is located EAST of Sparks, Nevada.

From the Reno/Sparks area, drive east on I-80 and take Exit 32, USA Parkway. Turn right at the end of the exit ramp and follow USA Parkway 2.5 miles to Italy Drive. Turn left onto Italy Drive. The Food Bank is on the right at 550 Italy Drive.
