Forest Service Opening Recreational Facilities Early

If you see smoke in the Washoe Valley area it's from pile burning being conducted by the Forest Service.

The Forest Service says it is pile burning in the area of the Little Valley Fire to help reduce hazardous fuels.

    

Roughly 30 acres of burning is planned for the area behind the Chocolate Nugget Candy Factory.

Burning is also possible in Douglas County south of Spooner Summit.

    

The Forest Service is also burning in Alpine, Mono and Sierra Counties in California
