Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue says crews knocked down a house fire in Silver Knolls Boulevard on Tuesday.
Officials said there was significant loss but there were no injuries.
Portions of the house were saved but crews kept the fire from spreading to the wildland.
The cause was improper disposal of hot ashes.
