On Thursday, student athletes and staff members at Proctor Hug High School unveiled their new baseball field.
Washoe County School District says the new baseball field was necessary because the last few seasons, athletes at the school have had to overcome many obstacles including last summer when vandals stole baseballs, bats, and other equipment. WCSD says the baseball field fell into disrepair making it difficult for students to play.
Working in partnership with the community, Les Schwab Tire Centers created a four-year baseball field sponsorship to assist with the maintenance and beautification of the field. As a result of the company’s generosity, the field will be known as “Les Schwab Field at Hug High” for the 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 baseball seasons.
The Hug High School baseball team played its final home game of the season on Thursday, May 4 at Les Schwab Field.
