Sierra-at-Tahoe Patrol says they responded to an unresponsive skier on December 26 at the bottom of the West Bowl Express chairlift on the Powderhorn Trail.
They said a 53-year-old male was unconscious and CPR was performed. They are not sure how long he had been there.
Additional emergency services responded, including paramedics and a CALSTAR Air Ambulance. He was transported to a landing zone where he was transferred to the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department who pronounced him deceased.
There is no further information on the the cause of the incident at this time.
