For the sixth time in program history, the Nevada Men’s Basketball team is headed to the National Invitational Tournament.
The Pack (22-12) earned the No. 2 seed in the Auburn Region, as announced Sunday afternoon.
Nevada is set to take on Murray State on Wednesday, March 18, at 7 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center in the First Round of the 2026 National Invitational Tournament.
The Pack got it done at Lawlor Events Center as it tied the best home record in head coach Steve Alford’s tenure, going 15-2 (2023-24).
The Pack finished the Mountain West regular season with a 12-8 record and reached the semifinals of the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championship.
The NIT bid marks head coach Steve Alford’s seventh-career appearance in the tournament. The last time this occurred was when Alford was the head coach of New Mexico in 2012, where the Lobos reached the second round.
Nevada holds a 5-5 record in the tournament. It is Nevada’s first appearance in the NIT since 2012, when the Wolf Pack reached the quarterfinals.
Campus sites will host the first three rounds of the tournament, with the semifinals (April 2) to be held at Hinkle Fieldhouse and the championship game (April 5) at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
