Evacuated Swansboro Residents Allowed to Return Home

The weekend's steady rainfall helped firefighters boost containment on the King Fire that's burning west of Lake Tahoe.

The 97,099-acre King Fire is now 92% contained with full containment expected by Saturday.

More than 4,200 firefighters are monitoring control lines and are mopping up smoldering areas.

Experts say due to the wetter weather, fire activity is expected to stay well within established perimeters.

Crews say 12 residences and 68 other structures have been destroyed since sparking near Pollock Pines on September 13th.
