Nevada officials listed 24 casino properties statewide that failed to meet a Nov. 1 deadline to submit updated emergency response plans for incidents ranging from active shooters to natural disasters.
That’s according to a Las Vegas Review-Journal investigation that says that within weeks, and with little explanation, the list dropped to three properties.
Casino regulators aren’t saying how they’re enforcing a new state law requiring 91 casinos statewide comply.
The law makes the plans confidential.
The state’s public safety chief says a noncompliance list is not one that properties want to be on.
The statewide list includes Golden Nugget, Hooters Casino Hotel, Treasure Island and Tropicana in southern Nevada. Reno area casinos include Eldorado Hotel and Casino, Circus Circus Reno, Eldorado Hotel and Casino, The Sands Regency, Silver Legacy Resort Casino and Grand Sierra Resort and Casino.
