Man Extradited to Carson City as part of Meth Trafficking Ring

Carson City Sheriff's Office says that a man who was arrested earlier this month as part of a large methamphetamine trafficking ring was extradited to Carson City Friday.

Authorities say 34-year-old Hugo Diaz-Lizarranga was arrested in Bakersfield, CA and was booked into Carson City Jail on Friday on felony warrants for drug trafficking and failure to appear for a sentencing hearing. He is being held for trafficking a schedule 1 controlled substance of 28 grams or more and there’s a no-bail hold for the felony charge of failure to appear.

Officials also arrested five others in Carson City earlier this month as part of the drug ring:

Detectives say that on August 17, following a three-month long investigation, a Tri-Net drug task force raided a Carson City home where almost four pounds of methamphetamine and three weapons were seized. Sgt. Dan Johnson of Nevada Department of Public Safety Investigation Division of the Tri-Net Narcotic Task Force said that during the investigation, the decade long Mexican drug trafficking organization that was operated through Carson City was dismantled.
