Meet Barrett Vinson our morning Meteorologist, he joined the 2 News Nevada team in the spring of 2025.Â
Barrett has always been interested in the weather and is excited and honored to call Reno his home. He is from the southeastern portion of the country, where he spent time in Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Texas, and Illinois.
Barrett's love for the weather sparked at a young age when he experienced severe weather in the form of tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, and ice storms, all while staying tuned to the local broadcast meteorologist for weather updates.
Barrett is also an Air Force veteran, where he spent time working with the Hurricane Hunters in Biloxi, Mississippi, and the Firebirds in Colorado Springs.
Barrett most recently came from Grand Junction, Colorado, where he fell in love with the high desert environment and the intricacies of mountain weather.
