A man is facing charges after police say he stole a car and later fired shots in Sparks early Friday morning.
The investigation began near Varnum Circle and Field Street just after midnight after someone had reported they were getting threatening messages from the suspect identified as Jairo Estrada-Landaverde.
Officers say they were dispatched to the same home a few hours later after the victim reported Estrada-Landaverde broke into their apartment and stole their car.
Officers say they found him a short time later where he allegedly fired shots during an interaction with the victim's relative near E. Ninth Street and Silverada Boulevard.
No one was hurt during the incident.Â
Estrada-Landaverde was transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility and booked for the following charges:
* Assault with a deadly weapon
* Residential burglary
* Harassment
* Take vehicle without owner’s consent
The incident remains under investigation.Â
