The Eureka County Sheriff's Office says a missing paraglider was found dead last Friday.
Officials said the paraglider, identified as James Johnston, went missing near Nine Mile Peak in Nye County on August 23.
On August 24, multiple agencies responded with private search efforts in the area.
They, along with countless volunteers, searched for several days. Search efforts were officially suspended on August 29 due to nor further evidence of a possible location.
Officials said on September 16, a passerby noticed an object out of place as they were driving along a road near Fish Creek Range in Eureka County. They said upon further investigation, it was Johnston's paragliding chute. The passerby contacted the hotline and the Eureka County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies and search and rescue personnel responded and found the chute. Officials said due to the time of day and limited daylight, search efforts were reactivated on September 17.
On Friday, September 18, volunteers searching the area found Johnston's body.
The coroner determined the cause of death to be multiple blunt force traumas due to a high elevation fall.
No further information is being released on the case.
