Police catch a cow in Sparks

Sparks Police officers were called to help with a runaway cow Saturday afternoon after it escaped from Gandolfo Rodeo Arena in east Sparks.

Just before 1:30 P.M. Sparks Police received multiple calls about a cow running northbound on Sparks Boulevard. 

According to a post on Facebook, the steer made his way across the freeway and onto busy streets. 

As officers were attempting to stop the cow and prevent it from running towards a busy gas station, it rammed a police vehicle causing significant damage.

Officers, with some help from some local cowboys and the owner of the steer, were able to capture it on Country Ridge Road. 

No one, including the steer, was injured.Â
