According to Cal Fire, the Excelsior Fire has burned about 876 acres west of Sloughhouse.

The fire is near Excelsior Road and Jackson Highway and is threatening multiple homes and livestock. 

It broke out around noon on Sunday, June 16, and containment is currently at zero percent. 

Evacuations were in place for people who live within a one-mile radius of Jackson Road and Sunrise Boulevard but have since been lifted. Nearby roads remain closed.

No injuries have been reported.

Sacramento Metro Fire crews are working with Cal Fire.

The area is also under a Red Flag Warning due to high winds and low humidity.
