The Sierra County Sheriff's Office says AT&T has advised them that phone service will be out for the communities of Alleghany, Downieville and Sierra City on Friday May 22.Â
It's part of a planned landline migration that will occur at 8:05 p.m. and will continue for about 10 to 30 minutes.
911 service from landlines will be unavailable, cell service will not be affected.
Residents in areas with cellular coverage should rely on their mobile devices, use a cell phone to dial 911
