There's a significant increase in bear and other wildlife activity up in the South Lake Tahoe area, and the city wants to remind you to keep an eye out this holiday weekend.
It's crucial to reduce your speed when in the area, and always be on the lookout for wildlife on or near the roads.
In addition to the driving precautions, also remember to place any garbage in trash containers and leave no trace when visiting any recreation areas.
Bears and other wildlife seek out food, so make sure to only put trash out on your scheduled garbage days and do not add trash to a container that is full.
Be sure to close and lock all containers after using them to keep the critters out.
⚠️Take it slow while driving this holiday weekend!⚠️
