EDUCATION:
- MBA Logistics, University of Nevada, Reno
- BA English, University of Wisconsin-Madison
HOW LONG YOU HAVE LIVED IN NEVADA:Â Since 1992
WRITE A BRIEF (TWO TO THREE SENTENCES) SUMMARY OF YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD ENABLE YOU TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THIS OFFICE:
I am a project manager and program evaluator of energy efficiency programs. Formerly, I led a local affiliate of a breast cancer foundation. We raised funds to provide breast cancer services for women who otherwise would not have had access to them. Earlier in my career I worked as a supply chain management analyst. All of these experiences provide me with the skills and perspective to make well-considered policy decisions.
WHAT IS YOUR TOP PRIORITY IF ELECTED?
Education, healthcare, and affordable housing are my top priorities. One thread that ties all of these issues together that I am particularly interested in working on is the shortage of mental healthcare workers. Nevada’s shortage of mental healthcare providers impacts our schools, workplaces, emergency rooms, and the unhoused population.
IN JUST A FEW SENTENCES: WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM FACING OUR STATE, AND HOW WOULD YOU FIX IT?
Many of the challenges that we face in education and healthcare are the result of a shrinking trained workforce in these fields. Nevada must address barriers to entry in these critical fields and must invest in career pipelines to build future, well-trained workforces in these essential fields. Workforce development requires increasing capacity in our institutions of higher education and investment in better recruitment and retention policies.
IN ONE SENTENCE: WHAT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING VOTERS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU?
I am committed to developing and supporting carefully-considered, data-driven, pragmatic policies.
YES OR NO: WILL YOU ACCEPT THE RESULTS OF THIS ELECTION, WHETHER YOU WIN OR LOSE?
Yes.
