Some coffee shops in the northern Nevada area are celebrating Earth Day with special deals and events.
The Human Bean is partnering with Trees for the Future, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to fighting hunger, poverty and environmental issues.
Each drink sold on Monday, April 22, will help plant a tree.
Coffeebar will also be celebrating Earth Day in the Reno and Tahoe areas with its "Drop the Cup" event.
On Monday, it will charge $1 per paper cup. All proceeds will go to the National Forest Foundation. Customers are encouraged to bring their own reusable cups.
OKAPI Reusables will be at the Downtown Truckee location from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Monday. When customers sign up for a $10 lifetime membership, they will receive a free drink for that day.
On Wednesday, April 24, at the Downtown Truckee location, there will be a coffee tasting, with proceeds going to the National Forest Foundation.
Also, Coffeebar is giving away six months of free coffee. You can enter the contest on social media by posting your favorite reusable cup with the hashtag #DropTheCupCB
One winner will receive six months of free coffee as long as they bring a reusable container each time.
