The Elko Police Department is warning residents of a scam call regarding the department's K-9 program.
Officials say the caller is not from the Elko Police Department but asks for donations for the K-9 program.
They also say that the Elko Police Department will never call anyone soliciting donations.
If you believe you have received a fraudulent call like this, you are asked to call the Elko non-emergency line at (775) 777-7300.
