For many, Friday Night Lights is just about the game, but the Reno High School community spotlights just how important something like concessions can be.

It is a way for parents to get involved and give back to their student's school and sports program. At Reno High, students get an opportunity to volunteer and provide for those in attendance.

"They also allow the kids to come in and have a work experience," said Grant Denton, Reno High School Parent and Snack Shack Master. "So,, they're learning how to get front of the house, back of the house. They have a really good volunteer program, not just for the parents but for the kids as well."

Denton tells us just how important these opportunities can be to give back.

"You have your volunteers. You got guys working the grill. You got guys that are working the front and in the back," he said. "And so, like, there is a lot that goes into it, but it's totally worth it for us parents. We have a very good community, and we come together, whether we win or whether we lose."

Friday night football can be for anyone and everyone, and when the community comes together, it can help make the gameday experience even more special. It also lets volunteers give right back to the program.

"The money that they make at this snack shack goes back into the program, goes back in equipment, goes back, uniforms, goes back to the kids," said Denton.

After a thrilling and eventful night at Reno High School, the Spanish Springs Cougars were victorious, winning the matchup 33-25 to remain undefeated.

Reno High School will be 3-2 as both teams begin league play next week.Â
