Every single day, babies are born with health issues and are put in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, all while mothers sit and wait for good news that isn't always received.
For these moms, the group "Mothers of Preschoolers", or MOPs, donates gifts for Mother's Day to help ease the stress.
The person who had this idea, and the mother of a child that spent her first 142 days at Renown, said that it can feel like a big hug.Â
Angela Bakker says her daughter was one of the smallest surviving babies in the world.
According to Renown, she was 13 ounces and just over 10 inches when she was born.
Bakker said that it would have not been possible if it weren't for Renown.Â
The gift bags come with gift cards, treats, handmade blankets, handwritten notes and more.
They also come with a journal for mothers to write down their feelings as they process what is happening during this time of uncertainty.Â
