Bartley Ranch hosted the Gospel Festival that is part of the month long Artown celebration.

The Gospel Festival featured prayer, a fashion show and multiple performances.

There was also a food truck, shaved ice and ice cream to help people cool down.

One artist was very excited to perform and hopes that her music can help create a sense of unity in our community.

"You know it is important to share gospel music with others because we are singing about the good news of Jesus Christ, we are singing about that our lives have been saved and that we have an eternal destination and hopefully a reward in glory, so that is what we sing about," said Crystal Aikin.

During the performances, attendees were singing along, dancing, and most people stayed while rain rolled through the area.

Another artist that performed hoped to bring great energy to the event and was very excited to be back in Reno sharing Gospel music with others.

"It's been a call all my life to do this, from a young kid I've been playing gospel music and I know the Wynn family and Tau family have been a staple here in Reno for many years with their father, so they are still trying to keep it alive. So, I am just grateful to be that extension, I am from the Bay Area," said Kevin Moore.

Many people said they had an amazing time at Gospel Fest, and they will be looking forward to the remainder of the Artown Festival.
