Corey Cutler

A habitual criminal convicted of being a felon in possession of a gun will spend at least five years in prison.

Corey Cutler previously was convicted of six felonies, including convictions for Robbery, Assault Likely to Cause Great Bodily Harm, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

Cutler was arrested last summer when his car was spotted in Washoe County, after being identified as a suspect in a shooting in Susanville and wanted by the California Probation Department.

The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says when officers blocked Cutler's car, he refused to get out and when he did, he was wearing a bulletproof vest and had a loaded handgun magazine in his pocket.

Cutler was sentenced to a total of more than 12 years in prison.
