KTVN is proud to announce the brand update of its local broadcast television and digital news products as 2 News Nevada.

“This brand update reflects and reinforces our station’s long-time commitment to focusing our newsgathering efforts on the local communities we serve in the Northern and Sierra Nevada range,” said 2 News Nevada News Director Jason Pasco. “A trusted source for local news and information is more important than ever. We value the trust this station has earned for over five decades and know this new name reinforces the importance we place on all the areas we call home.”

Local viewers will see the updated branding when they watch newscasts because the station is simultaneously unveiling a completely new, state-of-the-art studio for showcasing local coverage the 2 News Nevada team produces on a 24/7 basis.

“The technology we’re using to tell the daily story of our communities is unlike anything this local area has ever seen. We’re proud to raise the bar for what local news can deliver to our Northern and Sierra Nevada viewers,” said 2 News Nevada President and General Manager Andrew Perini.

New technology that includes 18-foot and 9-foot LED display walls as well as an array of monitors, technologies and presentation areas to tell the stories of Northern and Sierra Nevada in unique ways and enhance the best local Coverage You Can Count On.

All of the new technology will showcase a brand new 2 News Nevada graphic look which is the result of months of design work.

“It’s a rich, vibrant package of graphics that integrates countless local images from throughout the region to showcase our home” said 2 News Nevada Promotions Manager Zac Mooney. “These new graphics will help us deliver on our mission of providing more context to viewers as we dig deeper into the stories our news team tells. They will help give viewers a clear understanding and appreciation of the places we live, work and play.”

This includes a completely new look for the area’s leading local weather team’s presentation of Storm Watch Weather forecasts.

Though many things will look and feel new and different, one thing that won’t be changing is KTVN’s people and their commitment to serving local communities with the best local news, weather, traffic, sports, and information that impacts our daily lives.

“For more than 56 years, KTVN has built a reputation as the place to turn for breaking news and severe weather information,” said Perini. “We’re proud of that trust viewers have placed upon us and will continue building it as 2 News Nevada.”
